She is the Head of East Asian Languages at LSE and Academic Director for LSE Confucius Institute for Business London. Originally from Shanghai, she is skilled in Intercultural Communication, Translation, Foreign Languages, Lecturing, TV and Public Speaking. She is also an expert in eLearning and innovation in language learning. In addition to her roles at LSE, she is a school governor and chief examiner of Charted Institute of Linguists.

Jon is a much in demand speaker on China with over 25 years experience of working internationally on brands and strategy. In 2000, Michael Zhu founded his translation and interpreting company, Lan-bridge Communications, with just three employees in a small Chengdu office. Today, the company is one of the largest and most successful of its kind in China, with offices in London and 13 different Chinese cities, and over 500 full-time employees. In 2017 alone, Michael finished studying an EMBA with the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and oversaw the opening of 4 new offices.  Michael will give an introduction to entrepreneurship in China and highlight the important differences and similarities between doing business there and in the West.



Kain is the Sales and Marketing Manager at Lan-bridge’s London office. He previously lived in Shanghai for over three years, and is currently working towards taking his HSK 6 exam in Mandarin. He holds a Masters Degree in English Literature from Bristol University.

Darren began the backbone of his digital career at Yahoo! London where his passion for data driven marketing was initially unearthed across paid search. Transferring to Australia to work for Yahoo!7 Darren gained a wider view of digital working across paid search and then display. To allow a completely holistic and unbiased understanding of market-wide performance and brand advertising across digital, Darren spent three years’ agency-side at Zenith Optimedia and Ikon Communications. Here he led integrated media teams for clients such as Qantas, Citibank, News International and Vodafone. Returning to London, this is where Darren joined iClick Interactive and set up the EU part of the business as employee number one in London. From here he has subsequently moved to Singapore to help further their footprint into more markets across APAC.

After obtaining a first-class degree and distinction in Mandarin-Chinese, he spent two and a half years living and working in China, and returned in 2014 to set up Beiwei 55. Marc Faltheim

Having grown up as well as worked in a multinational environment, Marc Faltheim’s career has been spent devising, executing and delivering solutions to senior executives at companies located in Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East. He has worked for a number of well known financial institutions (Nordbanken, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Calyon bank and BNP Paribas) in Stockholm, London and Paris. During his banking career, he specialised working with structured debt products (credit analysis, syndicated/leverage loans, project and export/trade finance, aircraft/equipment lease financing) and fixed income products (equity/debt advisory, ratings advisory, high yield bond/private placement origination and placement). Marc has thereafter repositioned his career to offer corporate strategy advisory services to companies at board of director/management levels. The work he performs can, but does not always include, an element of financing (cross-border M&A advisory and J/V advisory – including equity and debt funding when appropriate). Most of the work assignments he conducts are cross-border strategy formulation and implementation work. He obtained a BA in Political Science at Richmond University, Surrey U.K., has completed post-graduate courses at IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland and speaks five languages fluently.

Cherif Bassiouni, a leading figure in human rights and international law.  Nadia regularly hosts and participates in BBC Arabic programmes including "7 Days", "Open Agenda" and "Talk Time".  Her poetry includes the book "The Vision" and for many years she wrote a daily column in the "Al-Arab" newspaper titled "Reflections of a Woman".  In 2015 Nadia founded and serves as President of the International Academy of Media and Diplomacy (IAMD).
